The title of the sermon is The Pulpit and the Pew. As I walked in the door, one of our devout members said to me, "If there is no fire in the pulpit, there is ice in the pew." That is the Lord’s truth. The message is an exposition, it is an expositional sermon. It is a message from the tenth and the eleventh chapters of the Book of Acts. This book is somewhat limited in its scope because the authors come from the perspective of Hellenistic rather than biblical Christianity, but within those limitations of approach the book offers considerable insight in how speakers can better prepare messages for their congregations and enjoy speaking with more spiritual power in the pulpit.
